I would use a stock radio for the test then.

@rabbiporkchop Here is the video you requested. It's just me recording the General Lee from the receiving Cobra 29. It starts with me transmitting right next to the receiving Cobra and I clip it when my signal loses intelligence.

I'm surprised you didn't take it to Q5 up in Madison since it's only a hundred and forty-nine miles from Chicago.
It did sound pretty decent though I'm kind of surprised I've never heard one of Kelly's radio sound as clear as that one.

    That is an excellent test.

About how far apart were the radios when the transmission stopped?

I would imagine two Wilson 1000s would add to that considerably.

Do you know the transmission Watts when on Low and on High power?

That General Lee sounds really good, loud and clear. Come on Rabbi you make it sound like 149 miles is a hop, skip, and a jump away, sounds to me like BTShepp has found him self a good, honest, reputable tech with Kelly. I wish General lee would make a cobra 29 chassis, I guess I could always try the Mirage 36, but BT I really did like the video.

Then again was just told BC 980 with SL41 mic sounds like a General Lee.

Good work is worth a 500 mile detour and a 34 hour reset.

Always wondered why everyone runs these radios with all these goofy mods. I traded my Cobra 29 LTD Classic in on warranty and they gave me a LTD Chrome, hate the chrome, but it also came with talk back. I have no use for the talk back feature, I'm not narcissistic, I don't need to hear myself talk.

What goofy mods are you referring to, talkback is not a mod, its a feature that allows one to listen to audio from different mics, especially echo mics.

All the roger beep, echo, voice morphing, etc... I guess it's cool for some, but I find when drivers let off the key and the roger beep comes on it's get's annoying from it's repetitiveness, same with the echo.
