OK, Here's an interesting one. My 3 week old General Lee worked great for the first 2 1/2 weeks but now it just shuts itself off then comes back on again. It does it when I'm transmitting or when I'm just listening. It usually stays off for just a few seconds but the other night it wouldn't come back on for over 2 minutes.
It's not overheating, all connections are good, and I replaced the relay on the fuse block in the truck it's installed in. (96 Mack)
    I'm stumped on this one???????

Where did you get it? And what has been done to it? Depending where you got it and what was done you should have a warranty. If it is still stock other than being converted you have your factory warranty.
The bad news is if it came from Radio Active your factory warranty was void the second they touched it.

it could be a cold solder joint, can you flex the box at the sides and see if it cut out.

I got it from Sparky's. No mods. except being converted. I know it's still under warranty, however, I haven't gotten with Sparky's yet. I know they would treat me right. I would like to avoid shipping it back if it's something simple. Hence, the question, anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?

I would just call sparky up and tell them what is going on. I am sure they will make it right. ;)

The first thing I thought of was the chassis ground, but I don't think that is it.
Something on the board has come louse. Give Al a call and send it back to him because you have his warranty and the factory warranty.

And have him peak & tune it for you. No swing kit or any thing like that just a plane P & T. He will have your Lee swinging 60 watts pep and it will be loud and clear. I have a 3300HP that he did for me which more or less is the same radio and it sounds great.
    Have a Merry Christmas.

I second "send it back to Sparky".

Oh and killroy, usually Sparky tunes all his radios before they go out the door, so this one probably doesn't need it.

Turbo T is right. Sparky's tunes 'em before they go out the door. I've gotten several compliments for this radio.
And I agree with Killroy, I suspect something must be loose on the board.
I'll get with Al, get an RMA, and send it in for a look.
    Thanks for everyone's input.

Send it back to him, he should be able to fix it. If its just a cold solder joint, you might try a truck stop guy (since no mods are necessary) and pay $5 and be done and have your radio back right away rather than waiting a week or so.
