I was wondering how many of you guys carry a general liability policy in addition to the cargo and vehicle insurance.
Why would you or why would you not carry it and what does it roughly cost you a year?

I carry 2 million General liability because 1 customer requires that amount of coverage.

Well I do and it is because of the drivers who can't see around them, these drivers are always bumping into things ... dock railings, other trailers while docking, forklifts that drive by, parked cars in employee parking that is fenced off and barely enough space to get a pickup in to.

I carry a million in civil Liability, it's not that expensive.
Lawsuits related to accidents in trucking or whatever it is Im going about my day to day driving in a regular vehicle is also covered. It would not be the only type of insurance I carry. -
I carry 1 million in general liability because we go into a lot of office buildings to install office furniture.
Most of the higher end buildings will require a certificate of insurance for you to do any work inside their building.
Mine is up for renewal next month and I just got a quote for $1800 for the year. -
I’m paying bout a third of that, and I live in a Sue happy area. When I had $2m GL it wasn’t a whole lot more; underwriter asked a lot more questions tho as to why I’d need it.Bakerman Thanks this. -
Ruthless Thanks this.
