Thought I would add that a lot of docks are built for you to hit them with your tandems back or else the trailer sits a lil too low and they will have problems getting in and out of it.

I like to hit the dock, bounce off, back up again and bounce a few more times.... then get it tight, then give it enough fuel to twist the cab and pull the brakes right before it stalls....

Just slam the dock like yard jockey. Make sure they know you mean business.

When i worked city at upsf I slammed dock at my last stop to wake them up.

I’m sure everyone in the building will know there is a van trailer outside the door....
I backed up to the dock, was ready to press the clutch and press the brake.
As I was pressing the clutch pedal, my foot shot off, the truck slammed the trailer into the dock.
The dock door didn’t open but the man door 40 feet away opened, all the employees and the company owner came out.
After a few laughs, they loaded the trailer.
