Thought I would post a video here that I took while delivering inside the caves.

Thanks, RRW -- that's really neat to view! After delivering there, it must be really sweet seeing daylight again. :yes2557:

I heard about these when i was in school and then again in training. I must admit that i would have been one of the guys having his trailer taken down there by the yard jockeys. Just a little to claustrophobic for me!

I have been in them a couple of times and thought it was pretty neat.

Be sure to slide your tandems way up with a reefer and that far for a van, or making the corner where the two way traffic starts is hard on marker lights on the right side of the trailer.

The roof is supported by columns on unmined rock, and those columns aren't always quite where they should be to make access easy to all of the dock doors.

I didn't like the place at all, but it is a good way to get away from Qualcomm and Peoplenet while you are there.

I was in the sleeping sickness truck at that time, bad trip all the way.

I never have had to slide the tandems for the Carthege caves,
But there are others in the KC,MO area, i have had to. Cn't think of the name, but the one place was so tight dimmly light i did get claustaphobic, that any more i refuse to go into them.

Geo Space is at Independence, that's the the one with the videos above, it's very tight going in. It didn't seem that dim to me, but I work in starlight sometimes without a light.

I've been in those caves several times when I did OTR. Cars tend to park whereever they want. Makes it really hard to back in. Last time there they gave me the option of coming in or having them come out for my mt. I sat and watched a movie in the drop lot while they came and got my trailer and loaded it. To much stress for me.
