I'm new to the state of Georgia and wanted to ask what the weight limits are for the state ? I drove in New Jersey, 80k there. What is the highest you can register a dump truck for in georgia and carry legally ? I'm looking to buy a truck and want to make sure I don't over or under do it, I know tri-axles aren't allowed. Any help or info will be great.. Thank you.

Are you buying a 3, 4, or 5 axle dump truck or an end dump or side dump with 5 axles????

I don't live in GA so i'm not familiar with what trucks are roaming around that part.

Aroundn here, in utah, most of the standard dump trucks require a pup trailer to haul 80k or more. Most of the end dumps are 5 axles but can only haul 78k because of bridge law. Although there are few with a trailer drop axle for a total of 3 axles.

Most of the end dumps are also getting replaced with side dumps. Usually with extra axles. And even a drop axle in the middle of the trailer. I don't work construction these days so i have no idea what they can gross.

And yes, we can haul divisible overweight loads.

Most dump truck work is by the ton, you load it until it is full and you go around the chicken coops, one of the many reasons I don’t ever want to look at one of those ####ing things in my mirrors ever again

Yeppers, if you are worried about being legal you will starve as no one else cares and thus the rates are lowered....

So what is the maximum tons you can carry on one dump truck and dump truck of what size? I’m also looking for carriers to support a project that I am bidding on if anyone is interested.

Legally it depends on the state, volume wise it’s going to depend on the size of the body/weight of product, Ma is 73,000 for a 10 wheeler which is usually about 22ton legal, (15’ body) I may or may not of accidentally loaded 35 ton into a roll off for off road purposes A time or two , going back to the by the ton thing....

Depends on what you're carrying as some commodities are allowed more weight. But regardless everyone here runs tandems (10 wheelers) because GA does not recognize lift axles and tridems are penalized.
