Okay driver. I will tell you that TMC, McElroy, Boyd Bro are all good companies. You will read a lot of negitive post about all on this forum but. When your out here on the road and meet drivers from all three of these companies who have been there for years. You will understand where all this bashing comes from. With all three you can get trained and move up in pay its possible to make a great living if you dont mind leaving on Sundays and returning on Fridays. My first choice in your case would be Mcelroy then Boyd and if those arent hiring in May go with TMC.
Mcelroy pays in the high thirtys and so does Boyd TMC pays drivers either percentage or mileage your choice. If you go with them start out with mileage and after you figure out the ropes percentage "CAN" pay better depending on different factors like seasons, were you are and what your hauling.
For the record I wish when I had started driving someone would have told me to start on the flatbed side of this industry. Its hard, dirty and sweaty work. Then you will make more money as well. "Flatbed companies run more regional where van/refer are all over the place. This isnt always the case but for the most part it is". If you decide to go flatbed get two years experience and look up Greenbush Logistics in Conyers,Ga. We are the in house carrier for Yella Wood Treated lumber. Most loads are no tarp loads and we are an out and back company but you have to have two years exp before they will talk to you. If you go flatbed give them a call. Just my opinion.rubberducky68, Lee76, The Challenger and 2 others Thank this. -

No one said you have to be Edumacated to Drive a CMV.

You could try CT. They do flatbed, hire out of your region, and have decent bennies.
They, and all other subsidiaries of their parent company, drive auto-assist Macks, and they seem to give a flip about their drivers' OTR behavior. On of their sister company's O/O drivers, from MCT, was driving like an extra from a Mad Max flick, #### near flattened me and my family in our station wagon, and their safety office seemed to genuinely give a #### about it when I called to complain.
Some local companies are out there to talk to - you might try WBT (Williams Brothers Trucking) out of Jesup. They do van and flat, I think.brar and rubberducky68 Thank this. -
brar Thanks this.

Anyone hear anything about "RWH" out of Oakwood, Ga. Thanks to the hand up there with the word on Boyd and TMC, good to find a level head opinion around here.
