Get Grants For CDL School-Even If Currently Employed

    Disclaimer: the specifics may only apply to Tennessee.

    For those that are not aware, there are goverment grants to help with CDL school, along with training for other in demand careers. They are called WIA grants and they are based on your income and/or employment status.

    Until this year, I was told this was just for unemployed people. Now, it can also be based on your income. They figure your income by taking your past 6 months earnings and multiplying it by 2, NOT your past 12 month's earnings. In TN, $14k in the past 6 months (so $28k a year theoretically) is the cut off. I seem to be very slightly over that income, but I digress...

    I think the amount is around $2k. Look into it if you are looking for CDL training options.
