How about we post some tricks to get you to a shop instead of having to call road service.

I will start out with 2 off the top of my head.

    1. Cracks in the oil pan can be temporarily plugged with a bar of soap. Just fill in the crack with soap and it will hold for a while. We had a service call in our shop on a motorhome and it had a cracked pan. The mechanic sealed the crack with a bar of soap and they drove it to the shop.

    2. Diaphragm goes out in a brake can and air leaks constantly without the brakes applied. Pull off the emergency line and put a dime in the fitting and put the line back on. You will have to cage the brake but the service side will still work and the air leak is stopped.

nail in a tire? if it is leaking pull nail out and screw in a screw to seal. heater hose breaks turn off the valves. if no valves loop a good part of hose from one fitting to the other.

An ink pen or the inside of the pen can be used to fix a broken air line as a splice.

Rescue tape (The stretchy heat activated one), Gorilla tape, Spare coolant, fuel and air lines, compression fittings, spare fuses, paper clips, spare band clamps and hose couplings. Coffee can full of old nuts bolts and washers. Spare fuel filter that I've never had to use,.. but will be happy I have it if I ever do.

I've used velcro tape when my alt belt shredded. Got me 80 mi to a shop for a new belt.

If you've got a screw in a tire that's leaking, remove the screw apply some RTV silicone and reinstall

$7 plug kits work good too. They can grind it out easily when patching it.

I saw a guy using one of those once that I #### you not, it took 10 plugs to fill the hole. He just ran that tire out and it held.

I always thought those plug kits were a waist of $$$. until a forman on a job one day pluged 4 holes in a tire on my wagon (some one had dropped a box of roofing nails) that tire lasted until it was wornout. I carry one with me now. word of advise- don't buy the one with the cheap plastic handle. it really hurts when the handle breaks and the needle sticks in your palm!!
