maybe a couple of minutes, youll be from one end to the other end all the time while tarping. it can take anywhere from 15 minutes to tarp to as much as 2-3 hours it alldepends on you and how you work

I think I'll give them a call then. I already filled out the quick application paper that the recruiter gave us, and I have his card in my wallet. The more options, the better off I'll be. Thanks for explaining and answering my questions, if you hadn't I would probably not even considered a flatbed company.

best bet is to just get 6 month to a year with whoever you can. then move on to a company worth driving for. All these company's that hire newbies try to get every thing they can from you and pay you as little as possible because they know your not going to stay. Be prepared to spend alot of time away from home. Good luck

I'm in a generous mood today, so here ya go....Apply to Magnum out of Fargo, ND. They have a couple lanes running in and out of central NC - which will get you home a lot. They're not really a "starter" company, but are willing to train. I think they start @ .35cpm when your done with training, and if your a runner you'll be up to .45cpm in 4 months. They offer generous benefits and are pretty mellow if you can manage yourself. Good Luck!

Yeah, I'll find a company and stay with them long enough to get experience and another job, or until I can swim in the BS. As far as the away from home thing goes, that's more incentive for me to get rolling. I can't wait to get away from where I'm at.

I just checked out Magnum, and unfortunately, they require you be 23. May be a good place to look in a couple of years, especially when I'll have experience.

TMC has a policy of 23 yes, but in my most recent class we had 2 individuals who werent 23 that got hired. They had to get approval ahead of time, but yes they were hired
