that is where getting breakdown pay helps. $100 a day, but that still wont cover all my expences...sure...but it'll help take a big chunk out of it.

as far as fuel goes, I plan to fuel as often as i can at terminals, where the fuel is normally .10-.15c cheaper per gallon. So if i fuel 100 gal, and end up saving $15...x 5 x 52, thats $4k in my pocket. and sometimes the difference is close to a quarter per gallon. Now if i happen to need a shower, or out where there are no terminals, granted i'll have to fuel at a Loves or Pilot. dont much care for the others....but the fuel rebate is right around .27c per loaded mile. so if i'm getting 7mpg MINIMUM (which i should) thats close to $2 in my pocket per gallon. so my out of pocket costs will be no more than $1.50 a gallon. 100gal 5x a week (guessing).....yeah....guess my figures didnt take on the fuel out of pocket. i should shoot for about $1500 a week to break even. thx for opening my eyes on that one. =)

What is the lease payment? Is there a balloon at the end...do you own the truck at the end?

standard $50k balloon. payments are $500/wk for 2 yrs. but if i ever want out of the lease, finding someone to take it over wont be hard, since it is a T660. when i picked up the truck in Columbus the other day, the guy in the garage told me he had shown the truck to about 5-6 drivers in the last couple days.

If i could manage to save up half of the balloon, then get the rest financed. yeah....9 out of 10 will say the lease deals all suck. and i would agree. Nobody will look at you to get $50k balloon financed on a 4 year old truck with 500k miles. But i figure, if i got my own truck 3rd party, and decided i wanted to up and quit....i couldn't just turn the truck back in, i'd still have to pay on it, and then they'd come after me for the payments. With leasing, if i decide i'm done, i turn the truck back in, and continue to drive till someone wants the truck. But if i planned on only doing this for 6 mo. i wouldn't have bothered leasing.

Did you really bother doing the math on this screw job? Well I did for you.

    500 x 52 = 26000 x 2yrs = 52000 + 50000 ballon = $102,000 for a truck thats a year old and already has over 100,000 miles on it! The truck probably isn't worth 80k and the company probably paid less than 80k for it!

Hope the deal came with vasoline, cause dick, you got boned!

Oh, the last part of your post already tells me you planned for failure. You even stated it yourself why you are doing the LP plan, incase you don't like it.

Like they say...... There is a sucker born every minute!

cmon les--you made a big mistake---it will be a 2 year old truck
i am to lazy to figure it out--after seeing the 2grand a month payment---and you cant depreciate truck yourself--or even lower your tax with tire purchases and such--cause it isnt your truck---now that scares the hell out of me

Breakdown pay? Only company driver's get breakdown pay! So your going to be a company driver buying a truck for Swift's lease? Doesn't matter now. You've already signed the #### thing.
