Yes a fiber and alum truck will rust, there the frame , that will chip off the paint and flakes, mine was around the fith wheel area, while i was rec , i had a 24 hour window, so i spent a few hours with wire brush and 4 cans of 99 cents of primer and black it looked good as new, next is the mirrors will rust too , mine had the covers, but someby drilled into back for something and rusty screw streaked down took that out plug holes and shine it up theres lots differnt areas too rust like those front bumpers that chip off and get rusty looking, just a few areas that get hit hard and depends were the truck is run thru , the shipping lanes , might been up north full of salt or brine type stuff :biggrin_2556:Everett.

Guess he would'nt want to drive my old 99. Cleaned up the paint still has a shine to it and my frame is not all rusted out either

I was offered a job with them. All the trucks i have seen in the southeast look near new.
The fact that they only run 61 mph killed it for me!

Why in the world would a driver want to spend his own time cleaning up a truck that should have been clean when he got it in the first place? That's just plain stupid.

The newest hire usually gits the oldest truck. I recently started with a company and I'm assigned a 2000 columbia with 800000 + miles on it. It's a good runner and was as dirty on the inside as it was on the outside! It still has a few rough edges, won't win any beauty contests but I take care of it and I'm making a good living driving it. The company is a small outfit and they keep their trucks for as long as they can. And they keep them in good running order too. This older workhorse will be sold pretty soon and I'll be into a newer rig. It is not stupid to clean up the truck you're gonna be living out of for five days a week or more. I had no control over how clean the previous driver kept the truck. But I do now!

I started out in a 95' Freightliner super ten, talk about rust, haha I used to work for a guy who had me driving an 1989 Mack 5 speed. It was a peice of junk but got me about 500 a week so I could deal with the rust and smell, haha.
