Wait, so the rate con said "must fax BOL when delivered" - you waited a few days for them to have to call you to get you to send over the BOL - the POD you sent over did not include the BOL - and your first reaction is "Broker is being sleezy and dishonest"?
I personally don't think it is right for a broker to charge a fee to their carrier unless the Client is charging the broker AND the broker told the carrier up front that there was a possibility of fees if certain criteria aren't met. i.e. Load delivers late, unless it was the carrier's fault AND the customer is charging a fee AND the carrier was notified in writing that there can be late fees if the load delivers late it is a terrible idea to charge a carrier. Personally, I will do everything I can to get out of a late fee for a carrier. Its the same thought process with charging TONUs to Clients when they cancel a load. Believe it or not guys, brokers eat that more than they don't because Charging a client a TONU is a great way to lose a Client. BUT, to get back to the point, you didn't do what was agreed to (a few days, while technically is after delivery, is not a reasonable interpretation of that note) and instead of calling the broker and discussing it you come to the internet and put them on blast and file a report in truckstop. Come on man, you can't possibly think that this is actually the broker's fault or unfair. Like I don't get your logic.
In my experience, the carriers that communicate and can keep their cool - especially something is going wrong - are the ones that I can help out the most. We can work a problem together and find a solution if we know about the problem; but the carriers/drivers that won't reach out to me to tell me something is wrong (blown tire, heavy traffic, fee, issue at shipper/receiver, etc) are the ones that get surprised and aggressive when there are repercussions that can't be fixed.
getting 100 $ deducted because bol wasn't sent at the time when broker asked ?

I've had this happen. I avoid it with a simple routine. I use a scanner app on my phone, email straight from that and then exit out of the scanner app, go in to my email and check my SENT MAIL folder to see if it just sent and that there is an attachment with it. Sometimes I have to refresh and wait 30 seconds or so, but it works every time.

I have moved a couple of really good paying loads for XPO logistics in the last 2 weeks. The broker requested a copy of the BOL immediately after delivery. He says the shipper requires it. He gave me his cell number, snapped a pic and text it to him before I pulled off the dock. Easy Peasy!!
bad-luck, D.Tibbitt, Coffey and 1 other person Thank this. -
Sure is nice when you find someone that’s easy to work with. Add in a good rate and that’s one to maybe develop into repeat loads.clausland, D.Tibbitt, Coffey and 1 other person Thank this.

100% agree. Everybody tries to slander brokers even know the same guys make their living with them. Usually their instructions are spelled out in plain english , it just takes some comprehension skills and the effort on the drivers part to follow the rules or dont sign the contract. Not rocket sciencetequesia2 and Midwest Trucker Thank this.

Horse Manure!
The fist thing that should have happened was a firm remainder. Only if ignored, punitive measures could proceed. Unless the story was written to picture the OP as a pure victim, before taking $100, they should have called and said "Don't forget to fax BOL"
....Like I care whether they charged him or not...LOL
I must be bored to type this here, anyways. -
Do u really need a reminder to send in bills ? I mean thats part of the frickin job as a trucker. Thats how u get paid.
-
Yeah, the broker should have reminded him of sending the bills the same day when delivered before charging $100
Because he did not, it seems that he just wanted $100.
A driver is not always able to send Pod right after delivery. -
It litterally takes 5 mins to take a picture and press send . Good lord. No wonder why they want to bring in robot trucks
-
A phone camera may be broken. Or there might be poor light. There could be more than 1 page. The driver may need to get moving ASAP too.
Use your imagination.
Even Uber or Convoy don't need bills right away.
Let alone charging $100.
How about sending Bills within next few hours?
