Every company wants new guys to have haz and tanker. I fully intend to get mine, but heres the deal. My name on my birth certificate is different, and i'm currently waiting for the documentation from probate court to arrive so i can go get printed.

I will have no problem with the tsa clearance, no record, and i've been cleared by state of MI to deliver to prisons, if that matters. I think i'm prepared for the hazmat/tanker tests right now, I dont think i will have a problem there either.

My question is, i'm an antsy and impatient SOB, desperate to get on to the next level of my career. I'm very eager to start filling apps and sending resumes. Should I cool it and wait who knows how long for the court and tsa to oblige me, or do you think companies will be considerate of my situation and take me on with the assurance i am going to get these endorsements asap?

There are many good job openings in my area, i'd at least like to get my hat in the ring, but I don't want to burn any bridges before they're built.

    Feel me, TTR?

There are a lot of carriers who don't require hazmat. I would start looking for a job now. Some carriers will pay for the cost of the background check once you are on the payroll.

    dca Thanks this.

To the OP...there are a lot of ad's in my area that state "must be willing to get HazMat within 60 days of hire". So they WILL hire you without, but you'll need to get it...or they have no use for you.

Thanks for the replies. The only company i've seen saying within 90 days is Con-way, p&d city driver. Gunning for a linehaul gig, Estes in my area is looking for line drivers. UPS cuts off the app process all together if you say no hazmat, lol.
