Lots of money out in the oil fields hauling sand, water, crude.

Most job ads I saw on Indeed wanted 1-3 years exp.

A few companies out there in Midland might train you to haul sand or water for them.

They make great money out there. Average pay I saw on those oil ads, 2000k a week.

Its expensive to live there and it stinks because of the refinery.

If I did it I would get a camper or something. Or work for one of the companies that offers onsite dorm room. Then commute home to Liberty Hill (north Austin area) for the weekend.

Motels and truck stops are always full. Last time I stopped in Midland on my way back to Dallas at the Flying J overnight. Couldnt even get out. Had to backup down an isle that was blocked off from trucks, turn around at the fuel island and drive through the weigh station to leave. Lol. Its a rat race down there. But lots of money if you can find a way to make it work for you.

Trained a guy that worked down there and in New Mexico. Said he made about 125k a year. He worked the fields though. But I imagine it's the same for the crude drivers.

Could even see if coke or Pepsi will bring you on as a driver trainee.
