Bad credit + No savings = Recipe for utter and total failure.
..this question gets asked time and time again on this forum.
Here is the GOSPEL thread:

Best advice? -> Become a company driver. Let someone else worry about managing the money.CondoCruiser Thanks this. -
bad credit does not necessarily mean no savings, also ever been thru divorce, great credit till ex got done, but still where there is a will there's a way.i did it higher interest that's all.
mustanglover, Roadmedic, MNdriver and 1 other person Thank this. -
My credit went for a drop when I ceased working for someone. -
Most of the REPUTIBLE carriers ( the ones that do not have big % turnover ) run a credit check if you want to sign on as an O/O , they do not want you if bad credit or heavy debt load.

A bad credit rating would have been an improvement, for us. Put up $1500 down on a private sale $34,000 truck (skipped paying the utility bills for that month, to come up with that) and drew up a contract for the owner to tote the note. Leased to a major, very reputable, carrier, requiring nothing up front and been getting after it ever since. That was 14 years ago. Would do it again, if we needed to.
There is more than one way to skin a cat.mustanglover, CondoCruiser, SheepDog and 5 others Thank this. -
Yes but TODAY a lot of the STUFF we all pulled off to get started will not FLOAT.
Today a few strokes on a KEYBOARD gets a lot of history that was time consuming to get if at all possible to get 14 years ago. -
SheepDog Thanks this.

Do we all wish we could be like you, Handarko, and Flatbed and have perfect credit, paid for trucks and $30k to start out with??? Yea, it sure would be easier but in todays world not everyone can be like y'all.
No disrespect to yall, I even like Flatbeds posts, but not all successful people in this industry have it like that.MNdriver and starsonwindow Thank this.
