Whoever specked that truck out had no idea what they were doing. 455 hp eco torque is a down sped economy speck engineered to cruise @1150 rpm’s @65 mph running 2.64 rears. Changing tire sizes won’t help, changing gear ratios will.

Bean Jr., slow.rider and georemo Thank this.

You have basically my truck (except rtlo16913a.

Ive done this experiment from low pro 24s to tall 24s.

    I do not like it
1st i prefer 68 mph on the average
Low 24s allowed me to do that nicely at 1400-1500 had good pulling power in the hills

The tall 24s i have to drop another gear on every hill and on the flats im running way too low rpms (1150-1200) for good fuel mileage in the top hole.

I would suggest snagging tall 22.5s and try it out, at worst, you decide you dont like it and getting rid of 22.5s is easier than 24s

Again, i began where you are thinking about moving to and i find it to be excellent, btw, if i send you a specific tire, you buy that and dont like it, ill buy it off you at 25$ a tire less and pay for the swap (my tall 24s are going on my brothers truck and he has 22.5 rims so ill need 22.5 talls to match my old 24.5 lps)

I live just south of indianapolis
    Pm if interested

Plus you have how much more weight to try and spin with bigger tires.

Low RPM doesn't neccessarily mean better fuel mileage.
