Like ofher said, the first two or three weeks your phone rings constantly. After that the calls peter out. You’ll still get a few a week, but not the dozen a day you get at first.
Op, hope it all worked out for you. -
So far after 2/3 weeks mine has blown up the first week. Bet 65 calls first day. Second day about half. Now mostly about 2-8 calls a day. A few text and a few emails. Even some snail mail showed up.
Mostly same companies call about drug testing or factoring. Most will be quick and painless to talk to but a few can’t take the hint so you have to be rude. Be prepared to wake up to phone ringing early. -
Are there calls on there that you need to take? I mean rather calls from FMCSA or some legal Authority?
The reason I'm asking is because I'm wondering do you have to go through all those voicemails and listen in case there's someone that you have to really get back to?
I'm going to get a separate number because I hate all of that kind of stuff.
Also, that is the same number that you use for business and for dealing with brokers?kenn2632 Thanks this. -

here is a solution, you cheap people won't like it.
YOU get one phone for the authority, you pay for that through some very cheap service, say like walmart family or mint, no data, no frills, not even voice mail. Then you use that number for the application. Most of the time if the fmcsa calls you, they will do so during the initial process and your number isn't published and that's it. You maintain this number for a while and the calls soon stop. -
I haven't filed for authority yet, been kind of preoccupied building my garage lately and been sittin on a fence about getting a newer truck (glider) but I really don't want the payments plus the fact that my insurance is gonna go up with a newer truck, but I've been getting the feeling mines gonna give me some major expenses soon
