So after 7 years Im looking again out of the Buffalo,Ny area. Whos the good companies out there and please no offense I dont want advice from a newbie who still has that "Big Shiny Truck" hard on and is gonna tell me Swift or some carrier like that is the place to go!! lol Looking for a good regional carrier.

I have not drove since 03 and they said I will have to go back to school. I think you might have to too.

If its a matter of learning new technology I can see that but no way am I going back to truck driving school. I think with 24 years of pulling everything there is including 5 years of NYS Thruway Doubles I can handle just about any truck and trailer.

All the ones I called said I need to. I have to do the whole 140 hrs. They say that if I have not drove in the past 3 to 5 years then I have to.

I, too, am coming back after a long hiatus. For me, though, I have a couple opportunities with very close friends that both own trucking companies and have been pulling at me for a long time. I need not go to any school. Not to mention the fact that, occasionally, I haul grain for my step-brother. The time is right, so here we go.

I went to an 8 week school and remember some of the drivers were taking the refresher course.
I think it's only a few days long. A lot better than 8 weeks.Nolelover61 Thanks this.
