I have a current class A CDL and want to get back into driving. The problem is I have been out of a cab for 7 years. Is there a company that will hire me or should I take a refresher course before contacting any truck companies. I was thinking about driving for Roehl or USXpress.
I would like to relocate from Pa. to Tenn. or North Georgia as a home base.
Thank's

Hey Vaughn. has anyone responded to you? I'm in the same boat, except I've been out of cab for 20 years. I live in florida. I've heard good things about Roehl. I hope someone responds. I need some advice myself.
Good luck. -
I've Read On Here That Insurance Company's Want You To Take A Refresher Course Before They Will Insure You To Drive, And No Company Will Let You Drive Uninsured. Just Something I've Read Numerous Times On Numerous Thread's. I Guess The Best Thing To Do Is Call The Company That You Want To Drive For And Ask What There Requirements Are For That Situation. Hope This Helps.

Well I decided to get back in the truck after being gone from it for 5 years. During the 5 years I have went to college to get a Bachelors Degree in Legal Studies. My decison to truck again came after I found that I could not work in a law office due to a felony I have for writing 2 bad checks. But I finished college anyway, and went to a driving school to get the CDL back. After 4 weeks of searching, I found a job. I am really excited about this. Just thought I would post this because it is hard for some, but never impossible.
