If you don't get at least a year of experience right out of training many don't see your experience as appealing. If you don't have recent experience many aren't interested. And many do not consider local experience for OTR jobs.
I'm afraid the Mega-Companies will want to send you back through training. A few large companies might take a refresher course. Small fleets and small companies will be your best bet. Oilfield driving jobs can be easier to get.
This won't be real easy and you will have to make phone calls and have face-to-face interviews to raise your chance of success. -
Check around local companies. Ask a friend. Heck ask your wife! I got my job through a contact my wife has. She works with the stepdaughter of the dispatcher who got me an interview.
