Regional and local jobs can be found but typicaly ( not always) a new driver does 6 months to a year of otr to gain necessary experiance to be considered for such positions. Another factor is what you are on probation for, If it is a felony it creates another set of hurdles, as with anything it can be done but may be more difficult. Best of luck to you.
mje Thanks this. -
Most companys will not even talk to a person on probation

Why don't you find a job first before spending all that money only to find out you can't find a job? You're going to either have to go OTR all 48 states or be SOL.No one locally will hire you, they don't have trainers.Im afraid you're going to be in for a rude awakening once you're done with school. Also I don't know of any companies thatll take someone on probation but anything is possible.I really do suggest you land a job first then go to school but plan on going cross country..You may land a regional job but don't hold your breath.
Sojourn14, mje and Tonythetruckerdude Thank this. -

What did you do to be on probation for almost 10 years?? That will be a big issue with most companies
Tonythetruckerdude and SHO-TYME Thank this. -
Paschall Truck Lines might hire you. Maybe they can keep you on the East Coast. Most of their freight lanes are East of the Mississippi and Northeast. Apply online as a CDL student and put your graduation date.
Maybe an intermodal/drayage company will hire you; if you can get a TWIC.
Check Careerbuilder website for local jobs. -
yes but mainly stay in the northeast
