A friend of mine is interested in getting their CDL but unfortunately they have prior DUI convictions with the most recent being in 2006. With them being so long ago will this be a problem?
    Thanks

I don't see why that would be a problem. There are companies that will hire with DUI. That's been 12 years. You're friend should be good

No problem. Some companies will hire him.
Which state does he live in?
    Some companies have :
No DUI within "X" number of years.
No DUI within last 5 years.
    No DUI in a lifetime.
    etc.
In other words, there's a job out there for him.

He will be better off attend a private or community college cdl school that's a minimum of 160 hrs. or
Carolina Logistics will probably hire him to attend their school in Candler, North Carolina as long as he can pass a urine drug test.
