I have uniform pants…there regularly dickies carpenter jeans for $5/week they get cleaned and replaced when I destroy them which is about 1 pair every 2 month (I do more wrenching than driving) seems like a great deal to me the only catch is I have to drop them off in town at another shop that the truck goes to. I clean my t shirts with zep truck soap in an old wash tub and occasionally my personal jeans before they go in the washing machine.
the stuff is hard on red colored shirts just fyi Sometimes the t shirts aren’t worth cleaning especially if there heavily worn and just become rags.

Spot clean with goop hand cleaner, along with a spot soak of Tide. Sometimes wash real greasy spots in washtub first. Also use 2 cups of Tide, then again with 1 cup. Wash on hot setting. Gotta get the heavy grease out on the first washing, If not, it’s permanent. Helps to see how dirty or clean the used water is, at home draining into the wash tub. Sand and dirt residue in tub tells a lot. I’ll wash them a third time, till rinse waters clean. Sometimes I’ll let it fill, and shut it off, letting everything soak for 20 minutes or so. Tide has always worked best. I’ve triple dosed loads at the TS using new machines. They work. Still need that second washing, using proper amount or a bit less, to rinse out all the soap.

The new HE machines are pia. Depending on the brand, you may be able to ‘trick’ the software.
Load the machine as normal, put the detergent in according to directions, start the water, now before the cycle begins usual 2-4 minutes water run time, hit the cancel button. Spin your control knobs, then reset them to your original settings, wait a couple minutes, then restart the load. This should fool the software into thinking you have a really huge heavy load of laundry because the dirty clothes in the tub are soaking wet.
It may take a few attempts gets this down pat, otherwise toss in a couple gallons of water on your dry clothes in the tub.Mr Bob Thanks this. -
