    Hey all!

Planning on getting back into trucking soon after having been away for a while. I'd like some input on things to track as far as the job goes. Some info about the situation:

    1) Will be driving for an O/O, so no repair bills/fuel costs
    2) Will probably be expediting

Some things I plan on tracking (might give you an idea what kind of things I'm thinking about:)

    1) Daily miles (midnight to midnight)
    2) Total miles
    3) Daily Average
    4) Gallons of fuel pumped
    5) $/gal
    6) Food costs
    7) Job related costs (tax related, i.e. washer fluid or oil)
    8) Job related costs (not tax related, i.e. tv, cb,etc.)
    9) Pay (will break it down to $/mile, weekly, daily)

Just trying to think of some other interesting or fun facts I could track. Maybe miles driven per state or something.

Thanks in advance for any input!

my job little different, but we do keep track of miles per state, our bookkeeper breaks that down to gallons used for miles per state, base cost for miles per state.
I keep track of tools, fittings, gloves, clothing I purchase for work. extra things like index cards for directions, names and phone numbers. I need to remember to ask my tax lady if a % of my cell phone bill might be a deduction, since I do use it at work quite a bit.

    bugsy siegel Thanks this.
