Yes! That's one thing I'm planning to apply for after I get the class A. I assume they'll hire me, since they always say they'll hire 18 year olds fresh out of high school with no experience.

I'm sorry but that's what happens when you believe what.youremtold.and don't do the research yourself. Myself, trucking is always something I've wanted to do.i just kept putting it off. I asked loads.ofnquestions and researched before making my final decision. I've also been in touch with.manyncompanies.and found out their requirements and what was expected. Just jumping into something without doing actual research and only going off what you've.beenntold.just.may have put you in somewhat.of a bond. But keep trying. You will hear.no.a thousand times, but eventually you will get a maybe then not long after, you'll get a yes. Just keep researching and inquiring. Don't give up. It'll happenRugerfan, Numb and FredTheBasset Thank this.

What's puzzling is that the companies themselves say it! This industry seems to be built on lies. Another one is that trucking school is four weeks - it CAN be, but as I found out, I'm a fairly slow learner when it comes to the actual backing/shifting (permit and pre-trip were my strengths!). So it's been closer to two months for me. They need to advertise it maybe a bit differently, with something like "as LITTLE as four weeks."

Companies would rather have a thousand applications on file than only 2 applications on file.
Trucking is a cut-throat business not a church kindergarten.firemedic2816 Thanks this. -
Just remember OP, this industry, no matter if it is local or interstate, is all run by insurance companies, not the companies themselves.
The insurance company has pushed hard to limit their liabilities with these restrictions, not the FMCSA, they are just reacting to all of the demands of the insurance companies.tscottme, buzzarddriver and FredTheBasset Thank this. -
THIS!!!!! Another bit of advice. Fill.out apps for every company you can find. @Chinatown is a great resource driver.fornthat info.tscottme Thanks this.

He hasn't revealed his full disabilities; only the eye.
Can he do any manual labor such as unloading trucks? We need to know what type work he can do and the town or zip code he lives in. -
My disability is mental - autism, anxiety, major depression.
