So I went to school with England and compleated 6 weeks of OTR training. Then they tell me phase two training is no longer 30 days, it is now 60 days. Oh and going solo company driver is no longer an option. So I got off my trainers truck and have been in contact with a recruiter with Swift. She said everything in my application is good and that I may only have to do 2 weeks training with a "mentor" and then be able to go solo as a company driver with swift. I'm waiting for a call back reguarding orentation....anyways...here is my question...I keep reading about hiring freezes and what not...does anyone actually know for sure what is going on with Swift for a new driver out of CA?

All I can say is that Swift's frieght is picking up. Oh and good luck getting a trainer to release you after 2 weeks. Since it's a 6 week schedule, you're asking him to give up on 4 weeks of good team miles. Few trainers will want to lose that free income.
