Everything is always the drivers fault. Some thing I learned very early on. I love how the company I work for posts the names on the board of those who got perfect inspections. It’s so ridiculous because all it is his luck of the draw. If I nitpicked every inspection on their trailer or truck, half of them wouldn’t be allowed to move. We drive them partially broken or we don’t drive them at all. If I’m the day we get inspected we happen to pick one of the newer trailers, well then we have a fighting chance. That f we get wrote up? Bad driver! It’s such a racket and game!

So update! I started school last week and completed the hours needed to apply for my permit and got my permit! Bad news is the schools yard got shut down by the mayor and I’m needing to have my cdl in 4-5 weeks for my new job… the school I’m currently in is telling me I am needing 120 hours of drive time before I can take the drive test is this correct? Or can someone with a truck and trailer teach me ? Also as a Illinois resident can I take the training in another state ?

You can train out of state. OP, just find somewhere that is a good fit and you should be fine. I would imagine the school will know how to handle out of state situations.

I generally don't make school recommendations. Do some searching around on the carrier websites. All the carriers are looking for drivers.
