Greetings fom Omaha (well actually just a little west of there)

Well I am in place to deliver tomorrow morning in Lincoln. Decided to shut down at the Flying J in Gretna. There is actually a truck stop about 2 miles from the exit I will be taking, but never seen it and don't want to put myself out there just to find out there is not enough room for me. Maybe had I gotten in a little earlier, but all the same, here I am.

Had a real nice drive down here... no rush, no pressure. I did almost have an encounter with a family of ducks walking across I-29. Once I realized it was ducks, and once Mama Duck realized it was Tater, we both engaged in evasive manuevers. Wouldn't be a bit surprised if she was hollering "AFLAC!!!!" as I zipped by.

Other than that, rather uneventful day.

Planning on going and looking at a 2000 Freightliner Classic XL this weekend near my home. Really good shape, low miles, and best yet.... affordable. Who knows. The only other thing planned is R&R and seeing my girls.

Tomorrow I deliver in Lincoln, drop and hook in Omaha and head back to Fargo for a noon delivery on Tuesday. Life is good......

    WOOF!

I will certainly echo the sentiments of lovetheroad. Although I appreciate the blog, as well. I get an email anytime there is a post to the blog, so it works real well.

I always forget to check the blogs. That's like a different country down there. Take up as much space as you want to up here, they'll make more. Either way, keep the updates coming.

Seems like you have free meals lined up from coast to coast. Maybe just let us know when your blowing through and we'll all line up by the interstate and throw food at you!

hehehehehe Yeah I have been sorta on the fly, huh? Tell you what.... I PROMISE (see?) that next time I come into Hotlanta, I will figure out a way to make it happen. See, the thing is, for some reason, I have become the "Hey man, we have a problem and you're the only one in the area that can pull it off" guy. I got my hands on the same routing software they use, and (because of "The Trainer's" guidance) I have pretty much figured out the tricks to never running out of hours, even on Electronic Logs.

But I give you my word as a fellow driver, I WILL make this happen as I get through there rather frequently. But we need to do it on a day when Mrs. Fox doesn't have plans for you too.... :?)

I'm working on it..... I'm working on it. Unfortunately our freight that runs through there is rather sparse. For the record, I am usually punched due south from Fargo, then east. Then back. When I get to or from the Carolinas, it is usually tight mileage and tight time. Usually, the corridors I run are 40, 77, 64, AA, 74, 65, 80, 294, 90, 94. My N-S, E-W is usually 29, 80, 81, 135, 35.... then 30/20. Luckily Magnum doesn't give me a rash of grief when I go out of route.... but then again, I usually run it right down the throat.

Now that is a funny visual, isn't it? See me hanging my head out the window catching food in my mouth? hehehehehehehe
