Saw a gorgeous pete today tugging a magnum trailer. I think it was yellow, blew me away as i thought magnums trucks were blue.
Had a checkered flag painted on it, in the style of flames running from the nose to the sleeper.

Hey all. I don't want to take over Scooter's thread that he started here, but thought I'd post on my first month at Magnum. So far been out for 4 weeks, have hometime scheduled for Monday the 1st, and they'll have me there about noon...perfect. In 4 weeks, I'll finish at about 11,800 miles...averaging 2900 a week. Even had 6 nights at home during those 4 weeks as I was passing thru town. They like to keep you running, that's for sure. Dispatchers are cool guys, they actually know you by name and usually have multiple load options to choose from. First 3 weeks I was in a 300-series temporary truck, which was painful at times with 40+k in the box and a grade of 0.01% or more, but we did it. A week ago was moved to my permanent truck, a 600-series with more ponies and a better tranny IMO. Anyhow, things are off to a good start...I'm sure I still have the rose colored glasses on but I'm pleased thus far. Just thought I'd share with you all.

How are things going for you Magnum guys? I'm going to be going to school, finally, in about 2 months or so. I hope Magnum is doing well and still hiring rookies. They're at the top of my list.

I can only speak for myself, but I have nothing bad to say about the company. I've been getting good miles and have been getting home when I requested. The orientation class this week was full (maybe 8?). Once you're enrolled in CDL school, send in your app and start talking to the recruiter. Maybe some of the other Magnum guys will chime in too, but I've been happy so far. Good luck and keep us posted.andrew5184 Thanks this. -

Treydavid,
You might give Leith a call. The phone number is on their website. I called him about a year ago or so. Real nice guy, but he'll tell you if you're within their hiring area. It seems like I remember him saying they don't make it much west of I-35, but maybe Adam or the other drivers can correct me. I do remember he said NO NY, or NE. Can't complain about that.
Adam, do you guys have to do a lot of relays with electronic logs? I'd also be curious to know if there are certain customers you pick up at or deliver to fairly often. Just curious. I remember Leith saying they hauled a lot of french fries for McDonalds a year ago or so.
Take care!
