Yesterday I got the call. Being unloaded I called for the next load. The dispatcher says "your name is on the random list". 30 min. later I was filling up a cup, and then off to pick up a load from Kansas to Northern California. Imagine if that test was to come back dirty, I'd be a dirty rabbit for sure. There could be a call come monday in, say Flagstaff Az. telling me to pull over and clean out my truck. Getting home is on my dime and after completing a stint in rehab, I'll be able to come back to work. Of course you can bet who'll be getting the shortest and cheapest load on the books.
I do miss those days, no responsibilities, no kids, cheap car, no house. Some things are best left in the past. But if you really want to drive, it's pretty simple. Just quit, walk away from it. You'll find new friends, new places, and new activities to occupy your free time. There's always another day to live.
getting ready to start school, but I'm a pot head!

You tell yourself what ever you want to make it "ok" to keep smoking. You wont make it out here anyway.....

American Truckerthe gambler Thanks this. -
But you did say some good advice on some stuff. So I know, that it will help out the next guy.
The truth is people that do drugs can change for the best, and that's what I'm doing, and thank you to the guys that posted up there stories about there drug use on here.Freebird135 Thanks this. -
####! You know it takes a minimum of 4 weeks for the THC to get out of your system and if you've been smoking as much and as long as you say you have, you're #### out of luck buddy.
Don't waste yours or anybody else's time because you're going to fail your initial drug test and sent home with your tail between your legs. Your best bet is to put in an application at your local Head Shop.
Stay safe and please...stay off the roads.
Just wanted to add that I too was a pot head growing up. Used to smoke it every day but the day they intstituted drug testing, I quit. My job meant more to me than getting a "buzz".
If you can stay clean for at least 6 months (It'll probably take that long for the THC to clear your system), then go for it.
Again, stay safe and stay the hell off the roads! lol.Last edited: Jul 24, 2011

I find it interesting that all old skools 41 posts are in this pot thread. If you really had an interest in trucking, you would be in the other threads asking about the job and not wondering who the pot smokers are.
dirtyjerz, the gambler and GasHauler Thank this. -
I can't even believe that this is a thread. What is wrong with people?
