Ladies and Gents,
I posted a few weeks back about looking at taking with my wife for OTR. I am pleased to say we are pulling the trigger and starting our CDL school on Monday! What I am writing this post for is all the people like us. Neither my wife or I have ever driven a big rig. We were super inti.idated by the process of licensing and what not.
I want to chronicle our journey from starting schooling to the end of our first year. I want to help anyone think king of getting into this from a totally unrelated feild, myths from the road and some thing we learn by doing them right, and doing them wrong.
As it stands we are taking our training at Truck Driver Institute (TDI) the Dallas location. I'll post next week when we start and let ya'll know what's up!

Good luck to both of you.

You'll take your driving test in Waxahachie. 1. Get up to speed ( sort of) pulling out of the testing area. 2. Stay off the grass. 3. Be sure you know how to check air brakes. Pretty simple. :0)
Really not hard, the examiners explain what they want very clearly.
Have fun and good luck. -
Good luck looking forward to it.

And what better place to chronicle them in the "question" section!

UPDATE:
We just graduated from TDI Dallas (Truck Driving Institute). I gotta say...it was great. Krashdragon you weren't kidding about getting out of DPS lot lol. For inexperienced or CDL holders that need the 154 hr course completion, I would recommend TDI Dallas for sure (not a promo plus...just saying for new people).
So now the fun part....work. We are signing on with Werner to do team OTR, they have a dedicated account that is pretty legit so we are going to go for that. The only downside thus far is that our training consists of 275 drive hours but they split us up. She goes with a female, I go with a male. It sucks but at the same time it will allow us to focus on learning what our trainers have to tell us. After that its drive it like ya stole it lol. We are taking a week off after graduation to tie up some loose ends then its head first into work. I'll updated after we have been driving!
