Ok, im ready to get out on the road.

I'm trying to find a good school for me to goto.

ive kinda got it pegged down to either Roadmasters or DriverSolutions as my choices.

but before i really start talking to any of the schools id like to get some feed back on my MVR and what (if any) companys would take me.

    I'm 22 years old.
    July 07 I got a ticket for doing 83 in a (i believe*) 65 but it might have been a 55.

in 06 my license got suspended because i aparently didnt pay off another speeding ticket that i got in 05

that speeding ticket also included a license restriction violation (riding my motorcycle on a freeway, it didnt apear to be your typical freeway.)

for my own defense, I got my latest ticket on Friday the 13th 2007 of all days. My wife and i were driving the porsche so go figure.

    Am i screwed?

A lot of these big carriers are the same for Driver Qualifications below is a list for Interstate Distributor out of Tacoma, Wa.
    • Stable work history with a maximum of four jobs in three years
    • No more than four moving viloations in the past four years; no more than two in the past twelve months
    • No reckless, careless, driving while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs in the last three years
    • No uncleared "Failure to Appear" on Motor Vehicle Record
I'm looking to start school sometime in March with Commercial Driver Services in Lakewood, Wa. You really need to do your research on what's needed for qualifications, before you spend any money, most big carriers have the same qualifications for Insurance purposes.

Most of the qualifications I have seen state:
No more then 2 moving violations in three years! No more then one in the past 12 months.

Bottom line, your record does not look good at all. Especially if you were doing 83 in a 55! Even 83 in a 65 will not be enticing to companies. You do have some strikes against you.

For one, your age. Your MVR. Two speeding tickets in 3 years, possible reckless driving; many companies consider anything over 15 mph excessive speed or reckless driving. A suspended license. Also a license restriction violation. I don't want you to lose the faith but you might wanna pray a little bit! Its gonna be a little rough!

With Drivers Solutions (they train for USA Truck, PAM Transport, Expedite Solutions, and Averritt Express) be careful with them. They may accept you into their school, only to send you home three days later. They have been known to do this. I believe after the third day you are fully liable for payment of training! They wont send you home on the first or second day, they wait until the third and still try to charge you for services you will not receive. They will tell you USA Truck has agreed to take you! You get excited thinking your gonna be doing some thangs!

Then comes day three, then they will say USA Truck has declined your application! You were not forthcoming. By the way you owe us for $1800.00 for transportation, training, lodging, etc. They will try to collect and it will go on your credit report. Be careful!

I would suggest you go down and get a MVR report and see whats on it first. That would be the best thing to do for starters.

You may want to wait a couple of years to get them tickets behind you a little more because with your age and your driving habits, lol, Im sure most companies will frown on your carelessness but good luck to ya.
