What? I got my CDL right out of school and they took me right to orientation and training. Did you just rent a truck and trailer and go test?

I was wondering this myself. Training classes start EACH Monday.
Is there that much turnover or what is going on?

I have had my CDL-A since 2006. I drove semi with CCC until 2007 when I went into business for myself driving a tandem axle dump truck and semi for farmers and such around here and one business in Illinois last fall. They said I had to take out a loan and do RDTC to even be considered for a job. So I took the chance. EVO1 trainer said I should be in EVO2 and the second trainer I had for EVO 2 said the same thing. So I don't know...it will be a payback of tuition and such later as I have no money or job right now. Dump season is about over...but harvest season will start soon...so back to semi driving for farmers...it is a great life if you don't weaken. :biggrin_25517:

So are you with Roehl? Were you?
I got my CDL in 1992 but stopped driving around 1994. School would be a requirement for me. I have no issues with that. Roehl would hire me if I either did a school in Rockford IL (for example) or their school. I likely wouldnt need 100% of a complete CDL private school, but wouldnt mind taking the entire 4 week course. You just cant learn TOO much and the cost diff from their refresher to the full course is not much. Millis won't look at me without current 1yr+ OTR or unless I attend their own school and be locked into a 'contract' for 2yrs.

So would they accept proof like log books or o/o tax reciepts, fuel tax reciepts as verification that from 2007 to 2009 that you were a driver ?
