I already shift pretty smooth and float gears...I will just have to adjust to a new truck and the surge all at once...lol!

    You won't have much surge...

    45,000 lbs \ 7 lbs per gallon = 6428 gallons

So I think that trailer is going to be full.... Unless your info is off a little...

    Thanks Cat,
They showed me some scale tickets...Grossing 77 to 78k
Said the tractor full of fuel was a little under 36k with empty wagon.
If I remember he said 5500 gallons was about max so it may be a little more heavy per gallon than I thought.

I was trying to take all that info in over lunch with the owner.

Dominick253 and Cat sdp Thank this.

This will be my third or fourth...lol! Just trying to find the right fit...
This is the first one 2 miles from the house...the others were a 2 hour drive or more.
    Plus one of them closed.

First 1000 mile run in the books.
6000 gallon tank and they ship 5200 to 5500 gallons per load.
This product is thick...kinda like asphalt tar.

Within the first 25 miles or so I had the surge under good control and getting used to the timing of the up and down shifting,braking,ect....This was really easy to get used to for a smooth bore,no baffle tank.

First unload was easy, hook up the hose and a couple air fittings,Hit the PTO and pump it out in about an hour and twenty minutes...Load up hoses and head to the house.

Do a 500 miler tomorrow then run a two day trip wed through thursday night.....then off until Monday.
I think I found the gravy gig here for sure.....will have about 2900 miles for the week..
Paper logs,100% paid benefits and a brand new ride....paid off actual miles plus 40 a day food money!

They have the truck, fueled and loaded when I get there to leave out....pretty nice after dealing with grocery and dry van freight, brokers and all the BS.

I see why tanker guys say they would not go back to regular freight..
