over and over again i see people wondering how and where to get there class 1 or az license.

the best way i know how to get it for FREE is to come out to alberta and hire on to a oilfield service company. might cost you some thing to get here but you'll make it back way faster than by going to a school and then trying to get a job running a highway truck.

    jvar4001 Thanks this.

I doubt there's many companies in Alberta that will PAY for Class 1 licences. They may help, deduct off pay later down road, or you have to put in so many months with them until they get there money's worth back out of you. Better off save up your money and put yourself through a driving school, or if you have some driving ability/knowledge, go challenge the driving exam.

Powderpuff, that's the way Trican works. If I was told right for someone to get all his class1 training and all oilfield tickets, they would have to commit a year to the company. If they leave then it would have to be paid back on a pro rated bases.

as for knowing other ways. Sorry no I don't.

Trican in Hinton is hiring. Looking for at least 10 people due to promotions, people leaving to other departments, couple quit and one canned.

You must stay on 1 year after acquiring your class 1 or be on the hook for $2500 plus the cost of all other oilfield tickets. $1500 if you came with a class 3.
