Shop around for a medical clinic. Talk to drivers that use those specific clinic locations. My current employer uses Concentra and there are slight differences in the medical exam depending on the specific doctor and specific location. Shall we say that some are more lenient than others.

Watch you're not signing s HIPA form then, remember they started digitizing medical records a few years ago, there is a database and you could be giving them permission to access your prior records and not even know it.

I understand, and agree with, the over diagnosis of Sleep Apnea within the Trucking Profession and the potential money made from this current rage but...

    (Help me understand)

The OP has already been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea and is currently using a CPAP Machine.

    So.... What's the big deal???

Again, not questioning the general but the specific issue related to the OP.

My wife has a CPAP and, for her, it works wonders. If the OP already has it sit up ok. What's the issue here?

I do know from experience that even with no other issues a CPA P gets you a one year card. The reason for that is sleep apnea is a condition that requires monitoring , which is a giant crock.

Swift wouldn't hire me with my CPAP because it didn't meet their "requirements".

That's my point not getting hired by companies because of sleep apnea not my driving record which is good.. I am thinking about discrimination from trucking company because I have sleep apnea

Many conditions result in a one year medical card... I currently have one for a similar issue that seems a bit odd compared to not dealing with it and being qualified to have a two year card... LOL ... Somethings just don't make sense at times... lol

Nowadays unless you're 110% healthy, you're not getting a two year card.

    Well now THATS total bs...

They need not stick their nose in my personal medical issues other than to know I have an issue that is or is not being addressed with medical professionals... the end!

If my wife's CPAP machine addresses the medical issue at hand and is acceptable to both her medical doctor and insurance company, what freaking business is it of theirs??? Other than to get a report that she is using it as needed or required.

But, ya, Swift says it all...

I would have laughed at them ... Then called a lawyer about illegal rejection.... But then probably just sent them a Thank You card for saving me the additional headaches going forward.

    Stay Safe wherever you landed,
    MD
