3M also makes a product called Adhesive Remover. It works wonders on old glue.

    bentstrider83 Thanks this.

Another one to add to the list. I really need to jump onto one of those live-streaming, "shopping list" channels to cut down on my time in the store. "HEY, GET THIS YOU MORON!! YOU FORGOT IT ON THE LAST TWO GO-AROUNDS!!" "Yes dad." **winces at imaginary Indiana Harbor Belt**

I got my windshield replace last week, and I popped the prepass off with my pocket knife, and used the same glued velcro that it came with to put it back on the new windshield. Had that not worked, gorilla glue.

I ordered some of this "3M Double lock, velcro tape" that looks pretty similar to some velcro tape that I saw on the PrePass/EZ Pass store websites. Also got a can of the 3M adhesive removal off of ebay as well. Lowes was out of both products so now I wait and hope it's not on a tipsy carrier!!

    3m dual lock...

It is kinda like Velcro but the adhesive side is super strong, yet the adhesive release completely when you really pull on it. It doesnt come off the windshield unless you peal an edge up and then grab it and pull really hard with pliers.

The Velcro side is not male and female sided... It is unisex, by that I mean you can cut 2 pieces off the same strip and they will then Velcro to each other, and the Velcro is a really solid attachment that requires a little force to take apart.

I use it to hold my CB on the dash as well as to hold my pre-pass to the windshield. It works really well. I always have about 12 inches or so of it in my tool box.

You can also try using lighter fluid. Isopropyl alcohol usually doesn't do much for cleaning glue residue. Goo gone is really good, but unsure if truck stops have that normally. They usually have lighter fluid, it's relatively cheap and it'll do the job! Just clean the window good afterward to clean off any chemical residuals before applying.
Also, razor blade window scrapper probably do the trick too.
