GF says no to Estes xtraboard! Advice for a good alternative?

So I was gonna apply with Estes now I have one year and a month of experience but my girl has made is blatantly clear she would not like me being gone all week.

Honestly I feel like a simp not going man. The chances of making way more cash and terminal to terminal sounds like a breeze.

My current gig with U.S Xpress has some problems and it’s destroyed my personal life.

Here is why I’m leaving US Xpress

Six days on 34 hour reset off. The off day can be random and is never set.

Pay scale is way to low. But I’m fine with $1200 a week but I can’t stand the fact I have to deal with Walmarts.

The real reason I’m leaving 1 hour drive to work up and back. Put 24 thousand miles on my car in one year with them and extra 8+ hours dedicated to job on top on 65-70 hour work week. Can’t believe I lasted a year.

So I have a new offer that’s paying .52 cents a mile. Fedex contractor Sabot. Weekends off.

Job is only 17 minutes from my place. It’s a linehaul gig and home everyday. Should I jump on this job while it’s available or keep waiting for better jobs?

I can’t get linehaul it seems in my area with Estes or old dominion they never call. Maybe they don’t hire unless you have multiple years or have been with company.

Also job offers spotting a trailer pays $30. $10 drop and hook. Is this fair for a linehaul gig? I know the CPM is low but I’ll take it for how close job is to me. Also what is spotting a trailer? What do you do.

 

I don’t want to miss the chance especially since it’s only 17 minutes from my apartment. I’ll check out YRC
