You're not talking about Don are you? He was the black guy that was the night manager,at the fuel desk,at the Frederick 76.

Anyone remember the CB Truck stop ? I think it was the first exit in Rhode Island. There was a good bar and restaurant there. It's probably been demolished and something new built. I was there in 1977. Haven't crossed the Mississippi since November 1983.

I don't think that was there when I passed through RI. There is another towards what I consider to be central RI off 95. That one was always a little "Off" to me, I didnt visit there too often, choosing to go to US1 SW of Boston instead or N. Brandford 76.

I was surprised at the big truck stop near Muskogee when a young fellow asked me as I climbed down if I needed assistance fueling. I just said No, thanks. I thought he was panhandling. Turns out employees work out at the pumps to help out if you want.

That was nothing compared to the 76 and T/A in Ontario Ca. I still dont know if that fence was to keep people out or in.

The only thing I can think of like that up there, was Trader Allans truckstop in Amesbury,Mass. Was the first or second exit in Mass. going south on I-95 whe you came out of N.H. It had a bar, music, resturant. Been gone a long time. Bar was upstairs, rsturant downstairs,IIRC.
