That's one of my regular stops. The Pilot is no better or worse than any other Pilot or J, but the restaurant is still decent.
How was it different before? I guess that was before my time?

Yes your right. Come to think about it, I stopped by there a few times before I was a trucker and remember how much bigger it was.
Like I said at least the diner is still good.
I like stopping by when Lovely Lori or Bodacious Leticia are working. -
Can’t believe none of y’all have mentioned the Wild Wild West on old 58 out in Barstow, Ca. Always a place to park out in the dirt and #### good breakfast.

The C B Truckstop in Rhode Island. Truely a Dixie island in the North East. I have no use for New England . Massachusetts was worse than New York. I crossed the Mississippi River west bound in 1983. I promised myself to never drive my truck across the river again. I'm retred now so I can say I kept that promise. It may be different now or a "new improved version" and you may love that dirty water but Boston could never be home for me.
By the way I ran the east coast as part of a 48 state operation starting in 1976, through some of the worst winters on record. It was the people, my fellow Americans that I couldn'tget along with. I still respect them as Americans but if you need any freight, you have to come over and pick it up.Last edited: Aug 21, 2018

On 99 from about Merced down to Fresno, used to be these places that the buildings were shaped like a giant orange. Don’t remember the name, was a small local chain. A few had small truck fuel and parking areas. Cinder block “driver room” had showers and facilities. They had fresh orange juice and good burgers.

What happened at Road Forks? Must have been busy at one point. Did the big ones at Lordsburg kill them?
Eerie spot sometimes, make a good spot for a trucker horror movie.Lav-25 Thanks this.
