Nothing. They are PAID to train you, not doing it out of the goodness of their heart. You made peanuts during this time. If you got along, stay in touch. Meet up for dinner when you happen to be in the same place. `

I gave mine a brand new atlas, the nice shiny kind with laminated pages.

...the guy's atlas was falling apart. I'm still not sure if some states were missing because it was torn apart or he tore them out.

I know they don't do it for free, but we got along well. I figured it'd be a nice thing to do, plus all his money was going to a wife and diapers for his kid.

You gave them money when you drove all those miles for Him/Her (and didn't wreck the truck).

In most circumstances I would just say to thank them, shake their hand and climb into your truck to start running.

It is their job and they do get paid for it. Some companies even pay them after you've been trained if you continue to be a safe driver.

There is no obligation to buy them or give them a gift. My trainer and I joked that the last day I would have to buy him a ride with a lot Lizzie.

A gift isn't at all needed. If your company reviews them, then give a good review if it's deserved. Call them every once in a while with a question or to say hello. And be a safe driver, that alone can and does reflect on your trainer the most.

so its your fault he has to support the kid his wife had by you now..???

screw him, if his wife had a baby, it's on him, not you. (even if you are the father)

just keep quiet about it, let him think It's his......

well I can remember back in my day, once me and a trainer parted ways, we stayed parted.....

we never met again, but then again, I did avoid seeing him more than once.

I was there to make money, not friends.

Not everyone is as unfriendly as you. ;)

My sweetheart still gets texts and phone calls from his trainer. Of course, he couldn't stand the lazy guy, plus, hubby is an antisocial jerk as well, so he ignores him. But then, former trainer got a new phone number and asked why his calls weren't returned. Oops.

I would buy a soda or coffee for my trainer(s) while we were out on the road. Wasn't a huge expense for my budget and it was appreciated by my trainer, especially when he was running a little low on $$$

So am I. But even you can't say a little networking is a bad thing.

Friends in the industry means folks to vouch for you.

And I'm hardly supporting him... At atlas? What's he going to do with it that he couldn't do before?

Daw... Anthony ain't unfriendly. Not his fault they tore that heart of his out and stomped that sucker flat! ;)

    Antisocial jerk eh? Lol...

I need no vouching. I have made it all these years on my own merits and accomplishments.

then before you know it, the one who vouches, wants a favor......

    I work alone.
