Fair enough. I respect your opinion. It's valid, just not right. Excuse me while I take pictures of drivers walking across the parking lot without their safety vest on. Workman's comp costs ya know. Exactly where do you want this to end, short of ridiculous 15 million dollar loads. I know they exist. It's not relevant to the discussion. Every load I carry has value to the receiver. Whether it's scrap cardboard, or video games. I treat it all the same. Someone is paying me to move it, so it's valuable. Everything else is just drama and BS.
Give me your opinion

Hey drivers, word of advice for all of you people that either are new to high dollar freight or want to pull high dollar freight:
High dollar freight is the freight thats so expensive that the company is required to have EXTRA insurance. It pays you, as an owner op anywheres from $12 to over $24/mile. Your PRIMARY mission is to Protect the Customer Base! Why????
Because that one high end contract can mean the difference of an extra $100-150k on your gross revenue.
There are only 2 safe places for high end loads 1.Shipper 2.Receiver...every other place, that load is in jeopardy. Understand what that means. Dont take it home, don't do a 34 unless it is completely unavoidable. Don't be doing stuff like going to the movies in the truck lounge or doing laundry.
"Six, don't you think you are going a bit far?"
Had a driver leave a blade unattended and some idiot driver carved his name into the side. $3million dollar blade. Police involved, insurance claims...etc.
Anyways, moving high end loads does pay well, but the load takes center stage. I wrote a few years ago about how if you are going to pick up a $60million baby, you should shower and put fresh clothes on before touching the baby. On the high end, all it takes is one bonehead to lose a contract. You do everything in your power to keep the good paying freight.
Usually, when a company has a high end customer, they will only send in their best drivers. But some times, some desk jockey will send in a driver who is new to the high end game...and he runs the exact same way that he runs sticks and bricks...fiddle farting around and taking holidays...etc. I know that some of you arent willing to pull tanker because of the strict nature of the game, but there are usually lots of rules on the high end also.SL3406, Speed_Drums and 06driver Thank this. -
Those blade are 3 million apiece? What's the tower sections?
-
OP, how much was the load worth that you snitched the other driver out on?
-
Not all, certain ones are. The most expensive part is the nacell.
-
Or you could say "How much was the load worth the scumbag left unattended?"
Here it is policy of we see a trailer out of a dock and not hooked to a truck to report ASAP. Same as it is policy to report tailgating speeding, conduct unbecoming a driver etc etc. Helps weed out the dirtbags. -
I could say lots of things and I've no doubt you follow all company policies.
-
You didn't like me sticking my nose in your business and it irritated you. Funny how that works.DSK333 Thanks this.

I see what you did there.
