Im giving up, back in February I went with trucking company a, but the trainer was less than desirable and I ran (big mistake. I can only imagine whats on my DAC report. ) 2 weeks later I went with company B but I did not pass there physically and was sent packing.
So after months of looking for a job locally and getting nothing (sure Ive been on 30 interviews and driving test, get the same old thing,, you can drive but no experience) so the wife and I sat down over the weekend and talked it over and its time for me to go back to my old profession of being an industrial mechanic. I have several leads and an interview later today.
I would like to thank all of the forum members that gave me insight into this line of work and all the support and great advice.
I still go to the trucking school once a week to drive and keep fresh.
Thanks Stephan.
Giving up, before i got started.

Your probably better off in your old job. Trucking can be rough on relationships especially if you have kids. It wasn't meant to be.
-
That's bad luck man, you should pull your DAC anyways just to be sure whats on it. It might make ya feel better.

Just curious for my own information. Not trying to be nosey. -

yeah, sometimes things are just not what we'd like them to be. some say "everything that happens, happens for a reason"..whether or not I BELIEVE in that saying, is a coin toss.
hopefully you can get back to work at your former job soon and start making a regular paycheck again. you can still come here from time to time, you ain't gonna be thrown out.
best of luck to you, stay in touch.. -
Its because you left company A so early. If you leave before you have even at least 6 months experience and even that is pushing it You pretty much threw away $X amount of money you paid for your CDL training. But as said. ##### happens If you have a mechanical background i would look into fixing and inspecting rigs.. lots of money to be made there especially if you do on site repair.

My cousin is a maintenance electrician for a wire manufactoring company.Makes good money ,plus on call OT when things break on one of the 3 shifts. Not a bad job, every day there is a different problem to get fixed. It's a good paying job with decent benies;plus you get to go home every night, unlike trucking.

Yep, trucking ain't what it use to be anymore. This industry is truly going downhill. I would advise any kid my age to not do it!
