I've had my app in 7 weeks. Like Tom said, don't quit your current job. It may just be having to wait til a truck comes open. I'm currently with Gordon Trucking since Dec. Quit them in Aug last year to try Shaffer/Crete and literally lost my shorts! Gordon's not bad so I'll just wait on Poly. Enjoying the warm, sunny weather thru Vegas and Fontana! Now back up to Portland OR. Good luck!

Good news! Did the phone interview today. Things will work out (hopefully) to vet the call to fly on my scheduled home time next weekend. Patience is the word for thus process! I was settling in with Gordon, which wouldn't have been a bad thing. Not upset or unhappy and that is the best way to leave a company. I've thought along if and when I did leave Gordon again, it would be a move up and not across. Learned my lesson with the failed move to Shaffer last year. It's not a done deal yet but I see the light at the end of the tunnel! As always, thanks to those current Poly drivers that post...it really helps!

Good luck scOOter, should be in the house barring something unforeseen.
Been another long day in the trenches. Snowed overnight in Loveland, CO and the roads were fairly ###### through Wyoming and western Nebraska where I had to pick up. Made it down to Colby, KS where the snow is starting to pick up again. Heading toward San Antonio for a Friday delivery. Tried to find some of those good windshield wipers but to no avail. These regular wipers just suck in the snow and ice, had to pull over ever few miles to get the ice off of them for quite a ways today.sc00ter Thanks this. -

Shark, I've had my app in 2 months and it was submitted a week after tow931 who has not been called back as of yet. I've worked for a small company that hauled boats before the economy went sour in '08 and the hiring-on process was the same...time-wise. Patience is the watch word here and, while thrilled I've had the phone interview, it's not a done deal yet. This isn't like what most company drivers are accustomed to, is, submit an app this week and be to orientation next week. The turnover rate is very low with Poly so we have to not only wait til a truck comes open but the hr people have to make sure they can get people home as well. No doubt there are numerous other considerations. If you've got a clean MVR, and CSA, and meet the other initial qualifications, that's the start. I sent emails and left vmails every 7-10 days if nothing else to ensure they knew I was still very interested. If you'll read back through previous posts, it can be a lengthy process. The one thing I've heard is this...unless you hear back from them about your app being rejected, you're being considered. Hopefully a few of the current Poly drivers can clarify. To be sure, I haven't quit my current job...but hoping I'm making my "Farewell California" tour...I'm at a Costco in Visalia then to another Costco in Fresno. Heading east in hopes Poly flies me in next Sunday. Good luck!
