Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

Getting a raise would be nice. However, two cents a mile won't cover the cost of insurance. That's not a good trade. Expensive to get good insurance these days. Companies making it harder all the time. Sad how expensive health care is these days. Just like fuel prices...we just keep on paying it no matter how much it costs. Anyways, I hope we get a raise but not going to be happy if they drop the insurance. I'll be keeping my ears open for any changes. Take Care out there!

 

Thanks everyone, like I said, for now just a rumor. I think the whole Obamacare thing is gonna be a huge disaster. If I hear anything else, I'll be sure to post on here.....my cousin is the person who works at Poly, and he generally doesn't bother with a computer while on the road.

 

" IF" Poly increases mileage pay to compensate for lose of insurance,LRW is correct that a .02 would not be enough. It would need to be at least .06p/m.

My wife is a Health Benefits Admin at her work. Her company would save over a million dollars by discontinuing healthcare; pay the fine for not providing it; & let the employees get government provided healthcare. I can only surmise this will be true for most companies with 50+ employees.

This is the very thing conservative thinkers warned against. So much for being able to choose your own doctor, or living past a useful age.

Tired out. Spent the the last 3 days scraping paint and priming the old house. Got her ready for her first color change from white in 80 years Now if I can get the old tendinitis to settle down in my hands perhaps I will be able to go at her again tomorrow.

 

@jdrentzjr....you're right, many companies with 50+ employees are already planning to do exactly what you said. A colossal mess it will be.

@majestyk.....maybe try an ace bandage to wrap the hands a bit...I have the same thing in my wrist and wrapping it, not too tight, provides some relief. Good luck on the painting job.

 

I rvcd a phone call from this morning asking me when I would like to start orientation. I told them them the 25th as I want to do the proper thing and give my current company 2 weeks notice. I want say thank you to you all for everthing and beinghonest about the good and bad. I look forward to meeting all of you.

Being a Christian man I still don't understand why so many fall for the conservative's lie's. Not saying the liberal's are any better. But if someone could explain why they cry about Abortion, but don't want to give the children or the mothers health care, food stamps, raised taxes for all of the orphanages that would need to be built. Or the salaries for the people who take care of these kids and the cost for foster care. Not to mention the prisons etc. So seems to me they say Pro life but after they are born. Starve it to death, keep it out of our hospitals, and don't ask for none of our tax money. But hey guess this is why you don't try to rationalize irrational behavior. Good day.
