Happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there! Our trucking jobs don't always allow us to be home on days like this...However, having a father and being a father is a lot of what makes us who we are! Hope everyone is well out there today! Take care and enjoy this day! :)

The smell of burning juniper is awesome. I remember it well from my 5 years living in Phoenix. Better smell than any of the eastern firewood I smell around these parts. Thanks for the aromatic memory!!!

Well made it up to Brownstown and hopefully won't have any problems parking at a facility down the road. Looks like I will be picking up a loaner truck upon returning to GP as this one is drinking coolant like it is going out of style. I suppose it has something to do with the EGR system as it isn't going into the motor or leaking, just hoping I can get her back home without breaking down.

I really thought your truck issues might be over with that truck. You have been doing so well in that department lately. I wanted to comment the other day on how well you had been doing with no truck problems. Didn't comment for fear something might go wrong. Now I read this and wonder when you'll get the one that won't let you down. Unfortunate so many have given you problems. I worry about truck issues since it's one of the only things that can mess up our good times out here. Hope she makes it back in ok for you.

It was a nice Fathers Day for me with many nice words from home. I wasn't able to be home since I've been running so many loads out in the North West. I want to be home the week of the Fourth so been running kind of hard since last month. I left the house on the 15th of last month. My paid hub miles from then until today are at 14,224. I've been running a lot of good mile loads. I'm on one now. I still need to run 1,280 to deliver this load in Laredo on Wednesday. I've had Four Costco loads out to Sumner,WA. since the 15th of last month. Started in GP going to Phoenix and been in the loop ever since. One BackHaul was from Springfield,OR to Charlotte,NC. Then to Houston and back to Pol-Tex for another Henderson. Henderson to Sumner then back to Henderson and back to Sumner yet again. Hope when I get to Laredo they bounce me back to GP. Didn't mean to get so side tracked but as you can see. I's been Rollin out here. Still loving my move to Poly! Love reading about your travels and glad you got another grill going out there. Take care and good luck with the truck.

Well got moved over into one of the 2-3 remaining Volvos. I really like these trucks. If I thought they would keep it around for at least a year I would ask to switch over to it. Well only two choices leaving out tomorrow, the usual suspect Kansas City and one that I have not done before going to Villa Rica, GA. I decided to do the GA trip although it will probably hurt me mileage wise (can't deliver until Saturday morning) a bit but gets me through mom's tomorrow for some steaks and some laundry work so not all is lost.

Is there a map of their hiring areas? I couldn't find anything on their site. Also will it influence one's hirability if you move somewhere in particular? What I mean is that once a long time ago, when I wanted to join JB, I lived in their hiring area out west, but they told me there would be a better chance of getting on if I moved to Louisville, which I did. Any tips about the hiring process are greatly appreciated, thanks.

Your questions are little harder to answer than you might think but I'll try and help. Poly doesn't allow us to drive in California so if you live in that state you most likely wouldn't be hired. They do hire most everywhere else as far as I know. However, where you live sometimes matters and sometimes it doesn't. Poly prefers to not have all the drivers from one area or whatever. Helps to keep their freight covered by having drivers from all over in a way. For instance, say you lived in Georgia and Poly already had a lot of drivers from there. Then living there might reduce your chances of getting on because someone from another area might better fit their needs at this time. On the other hand they might be low on drivers from Georgia and then your chances of getting hired would be improved. Now just throw all that out the window and know that they might just need some drivers and they aren't overly concerned about what area they're from and so on. Ok...now throw this in! If you live around the Grand Prairie(Dallas,Fort Worh) area you most likely will fit their needs the easiest or best or whatever. Living there works better because of the way things are done here at Poly. Like when you get to the yard you can just go home and take your Hometime and stuff. They don't have to find you anything to get you home and so on. Similar conditions if from an area close to one of the other Poly facilities. Honestly, there are just to many things to put a finger on it all. Thus, that's why I said your question is hard to answer cut and dry. Live here or there may or may not matter at the end of the day. Best cut and dry answer is...California and your probably not getting on and living in Dallas/Fort Worh area is best most times. Hope I didn't lose anyone and hope that helps. Take care out there! :)

Well got one of those LilRobWayne patented drop hook on both ends, time frame open, back hauls out of GA so that will perhaps make up for a little bit of the loss of miles:) Rolled into Malvern, AR to visit my mom and managed to change out a leaking faucet in the bathroom, a truck driver's job is never done. I am really liking this particular Volvo, let's just say I can do more than the maximum speed limit in all 50 states:) Steaks been marinating a couple of hours so all things are right in the world as of now.
