Welcome aboard:) Did you get an International right off or did they put you in one of the Freightliners? Nearly got the old painting job knocked out here, about 3-4 hours left I suppose, will be glad to be done with that.

Hey jdrentzir, I read the first 10 pages... and jumped to the last one because unfortunately don't have time to go thru everything. So far, I have figured this seems to be a great company but also very difficult to get in... for that reason. Visited their website but not much info there. I guess you are still working there, correct? If I understood correctly, they do haul Hazmat but I went to http://ai.fmcsa.dot.gov/SMS/Data/carrier.aspx?enc=gD1FHzJJnZOKl1L5TQJGsA== to get more info and there was no Hazmat listed. So I got confused... Do they go to northeast? Like NYC and such? Where are their terminals? Will keep on reading... Thanks for the thread.

Hey majestyk, thanks for the information. I tried to call them a few times today but their line was busy busy. So, sent them an email and they replied. How often do you go to NY? Do you go to NYC and such? Reading page 15 now and got another question.... According to my understanding, one can stay on the road for 2 or 3 months and take 5 days off, correct?

On page 17 of this thread someone wrote that a driver can pick and choose where he/she wants to run. So, if a driver doesn't want to go to northeast, they can?
Further on another page, someone wrote that during physical test one has to lift 75 lbs off the floor and put on a shelve. Is driver expected to touch freight, help with loading or unloading? And also chaining?
Ah, and are you guys using elogs? do you get your assignment via QC?

I have not been to NYC but I think we might have a couple of destinations that do go there. As long as you run 8K miles per month you can take off quite a bit, up to 7 business days off I think so if you get home on Friday you can stay home until the 2nd Wednesday following arriving at home. The physical was the easiest that I have encountered in running for three companies. You had to lift 50 lbs off the ground and that was it. We do haul to smaller facilities where we use a pallet puller to move freight to the end of the truck but beyond that I have not had to physically move anything. If you go into a chaining area you are expected to throw iron and keep moving. We are on paper logs and very rarely does the QC ever go off in my truck as we do almost all communications via the telephone.

As far as picking where you run you can often do that but sometimes you only have a couple of options if you are on the bottom of the list so it is either take that load or wait until the next day. I don't wait for a particular load as if I am sitting I am not making money although I do have some places I prefer going to than others.

For a hard runner, how many miles one can expect to legally make per week?

If you stay out all month you can likely get close to 14K miles.
