Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

i have a guestion before i finish filling out my application to Poly, wht i s "GP" every refers to in these post? and does anypone know how they do in the vermont area where i am out of......i have contact someone at Poly and they reply saying fill out a application and they do hir eout of 48 states except from cali. aand one or two other.........so thatg not 48 LOL.......just been reading alot on here and it seems alot of u are happy..........what do u haul???? what are the truck like???? what is the pay? ( i have 26yrs exp.) hometime??? anything please add if you could reply here or PM i would appreciate it!!!!

 

I don't work at Poly but I can answer your questions since I read the entire thread. GP is Grand Prairie Texas, the home terminal. They haul plastic products like trash bags out of company terminals and back haul broker freight. Everyone makes .48cpm. Hometime is up to 7 days and they don't count weekends as long as you maintain 8000 mi/month. Trucks are decent for co. trucks but the shop could be better. limited to 68mph and it's paper logs. It's very hard to get on with poly as they have very little turnover. I have a spotless record and applied 4 months ago. I did get a phone interview 2 weeks ago, but still waiting. It's a long process.

Well pulled up in Sanger, TX tonight. Shipper took 3 hours to get me loaded near Wichita, KS this afternoon so kind of screwed up my plans to make it to the receiver in Athens, TX tonight so just pulling the old split sleeper and rolling out in the early morning to finish up with it and then back to GP. Didn't get a call from OB this afternoon about a load for tomorrow so may be stuck there until Wednesday. The old Volvo still isn't ready but supposedly will be done by Wednesday morning so perhaps might not be bad to wait until then to switch everything over.

 

Majestyk, well since I've already got plans with the wife for tomorrow I probably won't see you unless we're both on the yard Wednesday. Which may happen since I'm on Wednesday's board & you haven't got a load for tomorrow.

 

JD I hope your Rangers do better than my Cards have been doin , I've spent the last 4 days licking my wounds , during a 4 game losing streak , 1st 4 gamer of the year , what's worse is in 4 games they've put up 2 deuces a 1 run game and a goose egg. They're making everyone look top shelf.

I didn't plan this week out well.. I was thinking I was going to pop off 2 short runs and hit a restart so ill be ready for another long load for sunday or monday. Reality just slapped me. Thats not the case lol. . Bad planning on my part.
