After delivering in Blaine,WA last week I went to Salem,OR and loaded grass seed going to Farmingdale,NJ. I picked up this morning in Somerset,NJ going to Roanoke,TX for a drop/hook Saturday morning. I can be there Friday afternoon and will try to deliver then. That will put me at about 6200 miles in 12 days with one of the 12 as a day off due to being out of hours. Plus add 4 extra stops.

Steady miles on productive loads with a great customer base, this includes the brokers we work with for backhauls, keeps this driver happy. If the work our company shop does ever improves Poly would literaly have it all.

Returned to Grand Prairie this afternoon. After completing paperwork I found that from the 3rd of this month till today(14th) I drove 6173 paid miles & 5 stops. Since I had to take a day off during that time due to no hours for that day, that means for i averaged 561 miles for each day on duty. Makes me happy. I leave in the morning for University Park,IL & deliver early monday morning.

Delivered my two stops in Virginia today. I pick up tomm over in Hampton VA and have a drop in Memphis TN Friday morning and then Little Rock AR Friday afternoon. Hopefully, I will get a recycle load then out of Memphis or Searcy going back to GP. Once I get back to GP I will have over 7000 miles plus at least 11 stops to turn in. Momma will be pleased.

There seems to be a lot of x crete drivers heading to poly, I'm sitting around the wilmer yard here wondering what it would be like to Get a load over 400 mi or even get over 1800 mi for the week, sure are a lot of drivers here living in there trucks ,due to necessityPoly sounds like an outstanding co, that all co s should treat there drivers in the same manner!

It has been 6 months since I left Crete, and I am still glad that I moved over to Poly. I have been treated well here. To be totally clear, we do have drivers that quit this job. Like at any company, Poly has some areas where they need to improve. My only real gripe is with our shop. They just aren't very good. Fortunately though, we have an excellent road service that is very efficient. As a new driver at Poly, I knew I would be assigned one of the older fleet trucks. When I started, my present truck had a few gremlins lurking about and other drivers told me right away to get them fixed on the road and not at our shop. I followed their advise, and now that I have the kinks worked out of my truck, it has been reliable. She isn't the prettiest truck on the road, but she makes me $.

This is a true OTR job for anyone that doesn't live near DFW. If you live outside of the DFW area, don't expect to be home every week or two. The pattern I have set up for myself is that I run 3 weeks and then take off 6-7 days at home. I have been able to do this consistently since I started. If you are someone who needs home all the time and you don't live in the DFW area, I would not recommend this job.

I had really considered applying to Poly, but after long and sometimes tedious consideration, I've decided that when I separate from Crete, it'll be either home every weekend or more often for me. I'm just growing increasingly sick and tired of OTR in any form, and it's not just the company. I dunno....I think I'm just fed up with having to deal with the idiots on the road, and averaging 560 miles per day dealing with this is just more than I'm willing to put up with.

Plenty of companies close to where I'll be living in the next year or two...petroleum hauling, line-haul, other opportunities. But Crete will be my last OTR position.

I should add (so I will) that my wife has a good bit to do with this. She's tiring of an absentee husband.

Why would say that poly has plants in Henderson,Nv montbelview,tx and cotage grove,mn and there are plenty of other areas in the us you could be living in that would be great and still enjoy poly I know as I am a former poly driver left over two yrs ago was there five. Shop worst in the industry was then and apparently still is lol. It really is a good job though just stay clear of meyhew, hernandez and Hyatt they will in fact smile in your face as they stab you in the back enjoy it while you can the that is

Yep, we have other plants that we pull out of, but the backhauls tend to go back to GP so it would be hard to get out and back every week from cottage grove. Not saying it couldn't be done, just saying it would not be the usual
